Who am I?

Hello there! I'm Nick Veliz, a senior at Palma High School, and I want to tell you about my experience with radioulnar synostosis. Growing up, I never knew about my condition until I compared mobility with my friends which made me realize that I have limited mobility. Fortunately enough, my left arm is the only arm that has this condition. Consider this, when I hold my arm out and try to rotate my forearm such that my palm will face up toward the ceiling, my maximum rotation range is reached when my hand forms a 45-degree angle. My experience with this condition has been difficult, but I am committed to raising awareness about it through this website.

As a sports fan, dealing with radioulnar synostosis has been difficult, especially when it comes to baseball and soccer. My range of motion for baseball is limited, and I can't do some activities in the gym, such as bicep curls and underhand lateral pulldowns. But that hasn't stopped me from participating in the sports I enjoy. I've had to change my methods, which has made me more tough and innovative on the field.

When I'm not on the field, I like to relax by playing video games or reading. They allow me to escape and unwind in my spare time. However, in addition to my hobbies, I've decided to utilize this website to raise awareness about radioulnar synostosis. I want others to realize the difficulties that people with this condition endure and to establish a supportive community.

I believe that by sharing my experiences and insights, I can help others who might be going through similar situations. Let's come together to make a difference and make the world more inclusive for those living with radioulnar synostosis. Join me on this journey, and together we can bring about positive change.
